- Pandemic Planning
We work extensively with a number of large organisations across Europe to plan for the threat of a pandemic. In addition, we work with a central UK government agency to assist with the UK's response to flu pandemic planning, giving us exclusive insight into the possible impact on the UK and the planned response. We have developed an effective three-step approach for organisations, which our consultants are currently using around Europe right now.
Step One
The first step is to ascertain the potential effects of a pandemic on the organisation. We do this by linking official data and information specific to the organisation, and run that through our own software tool FluPlanner to calculate likely infection and absenteeism rates.
Step Two
Using the output from step one, an organisation must plan what to do when certain triggers happen. For example, a trigger point might be "the first infection of a member of staff".
There should be very clear plans detailing what happens once a trigger is breached. We help clients develop these plans using clear, targeted, strategies.
Step Three
We believe that there are just two critical areas that need action plans - operations and people. Both of these need clear and effective action at strategic, tactical and operational levels.
