Dennis Flynn (Director)

Dennis Flynn is Operations Director of Crisis Solutions. He has been a crisis management and emergency planning adviser to public and private sector organisations since 1998.

Dennis led the Crisis Solutions scenario design team for the 2005 Tri-Partite Authorities sponsored market-wide exercise and for a similar event in 2006 for the Singapore financial authorities. He developed his contingency planning skills during a career in the British Army. Dennis served as Deputy Director of the UK Defence Crisis Management Centre. Dennis was awarded the OBE in 1996 for operational leadership.

Stephen Nathan (Director)

Stephen Nathan, a director of Crisis Solutions, is a crisis management expert specialising in strategic business analysis, the development of corporate resilience and crisis management training.

Following a successful military career Stephen has built an extensive client portfolio, conducting business interruption analyses, advising on crisis management planning and structures, developing strategic business continuity plans and undertaking contingency planning advice and training.

 

Richard Whitby (Director)

Richard Whitby is a director of Crisis Solutions Ltd. Until Spring 2003 Richard led one of the largest business continuity teams in Europe, having overall responsibility for the delivery of several diverse consultancy assignments for major companies throughout the UK, Europe and the US.

His financial services experience stretches over 15 years, including fraud and insider dealing investigations and prosecutions. He spent a number of years with the forerunner of the Financial Services Authority and was responsible for resilience preparations for a major financial services provider.

 

Alistair Cartwright

Alistair has 20 years experience as a leader responsible for successfully organising and directing multi discipline teams and converting plans into actions that has ranged from designing and controlling small team actions to multi nation international military operations.

Before leaving the Army, Alistair was a NATO Planning Officer responsibility for two multi national, multi million pound crises response military exercises. He was also Chief Planning Officer, Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces, where his responsibility included Contingency Planning.

Mark Cherry

Mark joined crisis solutions after a successful career in business continuity and technology management within financial services. He was previously with Lehman Brothers - a major global investment bank where he was the European head of BCM for the last four years responsible for all aspects of Business Continuity.

Mark leads assignments with our major clients, particularly in the financial sector.

Jim Preen

Jim is an award-winning journalist with world-wide experience of how to manage effectively the media impact of corporate crises.

This experience allows us to provide credible and challenging inputs to crisis simulation exercises and workshops.

Jim also provides client specific advice on issues management, creates crisis communications plans, and delivers executive or spokesperson media training.

Bryher Bailey

After studying politics at Newcastle, Bryher joined us early in 2006 as Crisis Solutions’ first graduate trainee. She assists with the design and delivery of crisis management events throughout Europe.

Bryher also assists with the marketing of Crisis Solutions' products and services.

Peter Brown

Peter joined Crisis Solutions in 2004 after a successful career in the Royal Navy, where he specialised in contingency planning and intelligence roles. Latterly, Peter worked for three years as head of an intelligence team at the NATO headquarters in Belgium.

Peter has recently created and delivered an on-line risk management tool for a major UK government agency – the feedback received from the client described the software and the associated risk management work as “invaluable”. Peter’s responsibilities also include the collection and analysis of information for our in-house crisis database.

Tim Flynn

Tim joined Crisis Solutions in early 2006 following a successful career in the British Army. Most recently he was responsible for the deliver of military training to Army Recruits. He was also deployed around the world organising training and co-ordinated offensive fire support during the Second Gulf War 2003.

Within Crisis Solutions, Tim has been responsible for developing some of our cutting-edge technological advances, such as secure on-line workspaces and dynamically updating websites. He is currently delivering pandemic planning within a FTSE 100 company.

Russell Newmarch

Russell joined Crisis Solutions in 2004 from mobile phone company Orange.

He has also had a successful career in the British Army. He co-ordinated the lead battlegroup movement into Basra during the second Gulf War.

Russell was the key designer of one of the most complex crisis simulations ever seen - the 2006 Market-Wide Exercise for the Financial Services Authority - involving thousands of participants from almost every aspect of the UK's financial infrastructure. He then went to Singapore and developed a similarly complex scenario for their financial community.

In addition he has been instrumental in the global pandemic planning project of a major high street bank.

Emma Perry

Emma joined Crisis Solutions in mid November 2006 after completing an MSc in Disaster Management, specialising in Organisational behaviour, Crisis Management and Business Continuity Management.

This followed a successful career history within the Royal Navy; career highlights include five major NATO deployments as a Navigating Officer and subsequently as a Mine Warfare Officer, responsible for the conduct of Live Mine Clearance Operations, whilst heading the Warfare Department, fully accountable for the ship’s operational programme and capacity.

 

Andy Malloch

Andy joined Crisis Solutions in April 2006. He is based near Edinburgh and assists with delivery of events for our major clients in Scotland and the North. In addition he is in charge of transport and logistical arrangements for Crisis Solutions’ range of events each month throughout Europe.

Charlotte Hume

Charlotte has worked in network television for 17 years as a correspondent and presenter both with Independent Television News and the BBC. She also has extensive experience as a communications consultant.

Joining ITN in 1989 as a graduate trainee, Charlotte has produced and presented news reports across the full range of news stories from around the world including the conflict in Northern Ireland, the collapse of BCCI and Barings’ Bank, the death of Princess Diana and the September 11th terrorist attacks. At ITN, she wrote and presented live studio reports each evening for Five News, as their Money and Consumer Correspondent. She co-anchored six budget shows, General Election programmes and appeared across the full range of their programming.

She has delivered media training to a wide range of public sector and private companies and works with Crisis Solutions as a communications consultant to organisations undergoing crisis management and contingency planning.
